Q:Is it necessary to apply in advance in order to observe training?
A:No, it is not necessary. Please check the times of training before you
visit.
Q:As a beginner, I'm concerned about being able to cope with trainig.
A:Beginners are provided with careful guidance regarding basic movements and ukemi(break falls) according to each individual's physical condition. There is no reason why people who lack confidence in their physical strength can't begin training.
Q:Can females cope with training?
A:One of the characteristics of Aikido is that there is no difference between
male and female training.There are many female members.
Q:Is it possible to begin Aikido with no Martial Arts experience?
A:Yes, it is no problem to start. Beginners are provided with careful guidance
from the outset.
Q:Due to circumstances at work, it may not be possible to arrive on time
for the start of trainig.
A:There are some members who are late for training because of work. regular
training, even for just shorter periods, can still result inquick progress.
Q:Is practice clothing required?
A:Yes, practise clothing is required on enrolment. Please come to the office
window when wishing to make a purchase. Clothing can be purchased for 5,400yen
per set. In the case of a trial lesson, please wear suitable clothing for
exercise.
Q:Are there any competitions in Aikido?
A:No, there are no competitions in Aikido. Since Aikido practice is the
repetition of training forms, a competitive system is not utilized.Through
repetition of training forms, the goal is to acquire techniques to be able
to handle others without resorting to brute strength.
Q:Is Aikido painful?
A:A body that is not very flexible may feel some pain at first when being
taught techniques.However, Aikido does not set out to harm one's partner;rather,
techniques have a feeling of stretching and extending out the partner's
body-this is one aspect of the health benefits of training.
Q:There are Aikido videos of peaple being violently thrown about. I don't feel confident in being able to perform such flamboyant ukemi(break falls).
A:There is no possibility of beginners immediately doing rough training. Guidance on besic movements and break falls is provided in a calm manner. It is not a goal of a Aikido to perform flashy break falls.
